Biography: Walker was personable and new everyone in the automobile business. By the time he was appointed vice president of design and general manager of the Styling Center, on May 22nd, 1955, Walker had designed 3000 products and was doing nearly a million dollars of business annually. He was also the guiding force behind the use of Plexiglas roofs on Ford Motor Co. concept, prototype and production cars built in the early 1950's.

Walker was required to retire when he reached Ford's mandatory retirement age in 1961. He deserves much of the credit for Ford's increased market share during the 1950's and early 1960's. After he left Ford, Walker moved to Florida and was elected mayor of Del Ray Beach.
